UNION, N.J. (2/7/25) – The Kean University women’s swimming team has earned their first-ever national ranking in this month’s College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Top 25 Poll.
The Cougars were slotted #25 nationally and moved up to #6 in the Northeast-South Regional Poll.
Kean finished the regular season at 13-1-1, dropping their only contest to current #8 Swarthmore in their final meet.
The Cougars have been regionally ranked since November.
“One of the team goals from our preseason meeting was to finish the year ranked in the top 25. This is a true testament to our team’s work ethic and love for one another. They have earned the right to be named one of the top 25 programs in the country and I am so proud of them!”.
Kean takes their national ranking into the NJAC Swimming and Diving Championship, which begins on Feb. 13th at the Hampton University Aquaplex.
Coach Swenson making a difference at Kean. Building a great program with a great Coach. Exciting things to happen.
Chris Swenson doing a hell of a job. Bottom of their conference back in 2018 to Nationally ranked now. Excellent stuff.
